--- Prologue --- I include this picture for one reason: To show the sweetness, naivete, obvious shyness, and complete innocence that was me in 1965 when this picture was taken. I was raised in a loving Christian home by parents who never had a drink in their lives; both of them abhorred alcohol. For me to have an addiction to alcohol was as inconceivable to them as it was to me, yet that was to become my life in ever-increasing degrees over the next 31 years. The summer after this picture was taken, I had my first taste of "the Nectar of the Gods" and my life changed forever. Fall down the rabbit hole and enter "Wonderland" to read my story. Lin L. |

Introduction This story was written with the heartfelt wish that it will give those of you who are still battling active alcoholism some hope no matter how many times you have tried and failed in your attempts at total abstinence. Never Give up! That's the message of my story. The self-loathing, depression, despair and death wishes were more deadly for me than the alcohol. Many of those who this powerful story will reach will identify immediately with that statement. The nature of alcoholism is such that we cannot free ourselves. There is only One who has the power to do that and that One is God, the Lord Jesus Christ who died that we might be set free and be healed. Never cease to ask Him to do what you cannot do. You may work your own sobriety, but that is a far cry from the absolute freedom that only Jesus can give you from this or any addiction. Ask with a sincere heart and keep crying out to Him, and one day as unexpectedly as Alice in her Wonderland, and I in mine fell down rabbit holes, He will answer, and in an instant of time, you will be free forever! I am living proof. I know what I am promising is absolute truth! Real deliverance and freedom are available for you too no matter your history or previous vain attempts. My prayer is that you will find God who is The Lord Jesus Christ and be delivered! Lin |
